It was the year 1959, when overseas travel was still a rarity, when the founder of Andersen visited Europe in pursuit of the newest baking industry. Since this visit, we at Andersen have always aim to explore the world's bakery market; sending many staff members out for overseas training and visits, always actively learning and implementing authentic bread and their diets.
From 1981, "Andersen Bread" and "Andersen Bakery" shops have opened in the USA, focused on the San Francisco Bay area, using the products, services and management know-how accumulated in Japan.
In August 2017, we opened "Andersen Islands Brygge store" in a residential area of Copenhagen. In response to the high level of interest of Danish customers towards food safety and environment conservation, we use organic certified ingredients for all of our breads and aim for a local-oriented bakery.
"The first overseas Little Mermaid shop opened in the Asia region of Hong Kong in 2003. Two local subsidiaries, MERMAID BAKERY PARTNERS HONG KONG Ltd. and TAKAKI BAKERRY HONG KONG Ltd. are expanding franchise business in the Asian market.
Furthermore, we established the PT. Takaki Indoroti Prima, a joint venture company in Indonesia in 2016. The Halal Certified frozen dough factory is also completed in 2017. We produce frozen dough using the technics accumulated in Japan and hope to contribute to development of bread culture in Indonesia.
