A bakery is opened in Hijiyama Honmachi in Hiroshima by Shunsuke Takaki, his wife Akiko and two other staff members.
December 1951
"Takaki's Bread" Co., Ltd. is established.
November 1952
"Bread Hall" is established in Hiroshima's Hon-dori.
September 1959
Founder Shunsuke Takaki (then president) visits Europe for the first time and has a dramatic encounter with the Danish pastry.

The Senogawa Factory (presently the Hiroshima factory) is completed in Senogawa-cho of Hiroshima's Aki-gun (presently Nakano-higashi, Aki-ku, Hiroshima).
February 1962
Corporate name is changed to TAKAKI BAKERY Co., Ltd.
October 1962
Danish pastries go on sale.
October 1967

"Andersen", a food complex with a Danish-inspired bakery and restaurant is opened in Hiroshima. The first self-service bakery is introduced to Japan.

April 1970
The Chiyoda factory, specializing in producing frozen bread dough, is completed in Chiyoda-cho, Yamagata-gun, Hiroshima (presently Kitahiroshima-cho).
October 1970
Andersen Aoyama opens in Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo, with the catch phrase "A slice of Copenhagen arrives in Aoyama-Dori".
November 1970
The Okayama factory is completed in Kamogata-cho, Asaguchi-gun, Okayama (presently Kamogata-cho, Asakuchi-shi), and the bake-off shop franchise starts.
January 1972
The "Little Mermaid" bakeries, providing freshly-baked bread, start up in the Hiroshima region. Franchising shops in the Tokyo region using the bake-off system are also established.
March 1972
Public patents are acquired for the production of frozen bread.

H.M. Queen Margrethe II and H.R.H. Prince Henrik visit Andersen Hiroshima from the Kingdom of Denmark.
November 1982
ANDERSEN Co., Ltd. is established.

The "Andersen's Fairy Tale Award" is established in commemoration of its 35th anniversary.
January 1992
Central factory at Diamond Foods in America is completed.

The AIB Food Safety training/auditing system is introduced to the Hiroshima and Chiyoda factories of the Takaki Bakery.
April 2002
Andersen Hiroshima undergoes a renewal opening with the concept of "the Bakery and more: Hyggelig Life Starting with Bread", and stone ovens are installed.
September 2002
ANDERSEN Co., Ltd. starts business collaborations with chocolatier Jean-Paul Hėvin. JEAN-PAUL HÉVIN JAPON is established, and the JEAN-PAUL HÉVIN flagship store opens in Shinjuku Isetan.
January 2003
America's Diamond Food is renamed Andersen Bakery.

A holding corporation system is introduced, and the corporation is reorganized into five companies--ANDERSEN Co., Ltd., ANDERSEN BAKERY PARTNERS Co., Ltd., TAKAKI BAKERY Co., Ltd., ANDERSEN SERVICE Co., Ltd., and Andersen Institute of Bread & Life Co., Ltd.

AIB audits take place for the first time ever in Japan's retail bakeries at some branches of Andersen, Little Mermaid and Cafe Danmark.
October 2003
The first overseas Little Mermaid shop, LITTLE MERMAID BAKERY, opens in Central Hong Kong.

TAKAKI FOOD LINKS Co., Ltd., manufacturer of bread fillings and side dishes that compliment bread, is established.

The Andersen Geihoku 100 Year Farm is established, and the first year staff members begin their two-year training in the Andersen Geihoku 100 Year Farm's Shunsuke Takaki School of Bakery.
April 2005
TAKAKI LOGISTICS SERVICE Co., Ltd. is established, undertaking distribution for the Andersen Group.
May 2005
The Okayama factory of the Takaki Bakery is completed, equipped with stone ovens, to bring European craftsmanship to Japan.

TAKAKI RETAIL OPERATION Co., Ltd. is established, managing franchise bakeries and cafés.
October 2005
ANDERSEN FARM Co., Ltd. is established, undertaking farming for a richer bread-eating lifestyle.
January 2007
The Tsukuba factory of the Takaki Bakery, specializing in stone-oven baked bread, is completed along with the Tsukuba Retail Support Center.
June 2007
The bread of Green Bread in the Andersen Shinjuku Isetan branch and the Takaki Bakery Tsukuba factory both receive JAS organic certification.
August 2007
ANDERSEN BAKERY PARTNERS Co., Ltd. is renamed MERMAID BAKERY PARTNERS Co., Ltd.

ANDERSEN DANMARK A/S is established in Denmark as a local subsidiary.

The first Andersen bakery in Denmark opens in Østerbro, Copenhagen.

The first LITTLE MERMAID BAKERY opens within the IFC (International Finance Center) of City Super Shanghai, located in China's Shanghai city.

The first ANDERSEN BREAD shop, a new business category with sights set on a franchise expansion, is established in San Francisco, USA.

The Andersen Group is reorganized into six companies for further distinctiveness and improvement of the brand name. TAKAKI FOOD SERVICE PATRNERS Co., Ltd. is established for overall management of bread, confectionary and food menus for the other bakery and restaurants.

The first "Danish Heart", a new shop providing freshly baked heart-shaped Danish pastries, is opened next to the Andersen Lumine Yurakucho branch.

The local subsidiary TAKAKI BAKERY HONG KONG Ltd. is established in Hong Kong.

MERMAID BAKERY PARTNERS HONG KONG Ltd., a joint venture with City Super, is established in Hong Kong.

With the ISO22000 certification of the Takaki Bakery Hiroshima factory, all of the major five Takaki Bakery factories receive ISO22000 certification.
